Medical Malpractice

Why Choose a DOCTOR For a LAWYER?

When you contact me for a medical malpractice or personal injury inquiry, I will get back to you within 48 hours to let you know whether you have a case.  Most law firms take months to accomplish what I can do in a matter of hours.  My ability to extensively review a matter in-depth, without having to track down and have you pay an outside expert, offers a tremendous advantage over a simple law firm.  If I do not know the answer, all I have to do is pick up the phone and talk to one of my physician colleagues.  With my numerous contacts in medicine, I can make a decision in 48 hours if you have case or not.

Twenty six years in the medical profession as a practicing surgeon gives me unparalleled knowledge.  No matter how many years a personal injury claims attorney practices med mal, he can never appreciate all the aspects of medicine that make or break each case.  I am amazed that law firms turn down cases that become incredible winners when we take over. A law firm without a doctor/lawyer simply lacks the ability to truly see all of the issues.  Medical malpractice literally takes a medical degree and years of practicing medicine to understand if something has been done properly.  A patient may suffer a horrible result, but the reason buried in a single nurse's note may make the case.  I take the time to find this note, and I know what it means when I see it.

A law firm without an in house doctor/lawyer often asks you for a retainer fee of $1500 just to have a doctor tell the firm if there is a case or not.  I do this for free, and usually on that day.

I have heard lawyers boast about their "can't lose" cases.  When they tell me the facts, it is clear there is no case at all.  They were told by their hired doctors the opinions that they paid to get, and not the full truth of the matter,

Lawyers charge their clients for all expert fees - whether or not you win the case.  Over 90% of med mal cases are lost by these lawyers, and the patient is stuck with thousands in costs for a case that should not have been undertaken in the first place.  To date, there has not been a case that I have taken that has failed to return a settlement far in excess of any costs.

I honestly believe that it is not in the client's best interest to take a medical problem to an attorney for help if an attorney who also has a medical degree is in the area.  As long as there are lawyers with a medical degree, and years of experience - there simply is no comparison.

My Mission

My mission in medicine, law, and life is to win.  I have a proven track record as an accomplished Doctor and Lawyer.  I have received numerous awards as a tennis player and equestrian rider.  The achievement of running a marathon in 2 hours and 46 minutes gives ample evidence of my drive and determination to reach a goal. You can be assured that this same energy and force goes into every case I agree to represent.

I am associated with two other attorneys.  Each of these gentleman have 25 years in medical malpractice litigation.  We all work on each and every case together.  You get the benefit of the experience of all three of us every step of the way.  Our firm also has paralegals to provide the service to get your case done without delay.
